Belu-Simion Făinaru at The Venice Biennale 2019

We are happy to announce that our gallery artist, Belu-Simion Făinaru, is part of the the Romanian group exhibition at the 58th edition of The Venice Biennale.

Alongside artists Dan Mihălțianu and Miklós Onucsán, Belu-Simion Făinaru will present Unfinished Conversations on the Weight of Absence, curated by Cristian Nae with commissioner Attila Kim. The show tackles the politics of representation, cultural displacement, the anxiety of non-belonging, and the notion of direct democracy.

Daniel Djamo / Group show at Hangar, Brussels

To mark the Romanian presidency of the Council of the European Union, Hangar is presenting three artists who have Europe and Romania in common: Mircea Cantor, Daniel Djamo & Florica Prevenda. In their various different ways, they each follow their own different paths in their exploration of the complexity of our contemporary society. Exhibition staged with the support of the Permanent Representation of Romania to the European Union and the Romanian Cultural Institute in Brussels.

The opening takes place within the framework of the Independent Space Index festival (October 11–13) .

The film installation Rewind at Hoast by Olivia Mihaltianu is based on various attempts, of her continuous trials and errors processes of manipulating film in ways that are touching aspects like fashion, culinary, society and nature, among others, in works such as: Robe de soirée (1996), Film métrage (2015), Spaghetti Loop (2016), Tailler la robe selon le drap / Cutting the Coat According the Cloth (2018).
